Hiking
with the Halton Outdoor Club Halton Club members continue to lead a great variety of hikes. We encourage our leaders to list their hikes in the Iroquoian magazine which means they are also members of the Bruce Trail Club. There are many more hikes listed in the Iroquian led by people who are not members of our club. If you are interested in participating in these other hikes you should be members of the Bruce Trail Club. Phill Armstrong, our Hiking Director, makes us put on funny outfits.

| The photos gives you an idea of the many vistas that can be taken in on our annual bus trip hikes to a variety of locations in Ontario. On these trips we stay in luxurious accommodation and have our meals prepared for us. | ||
| The hiking chapter of the Halton Outdoor club
is an adventurous group. Many week-long excursion groups have been taken
to the exciting destination of Newfoundland. Dozens of lucky hikers have
explored Newfoundland on bus trips, who would otherwise not have hiked
in Newfoundland had they to drive there.
To hike alone is good, but to hike in a group is more fun and much safer. The club supports an active hiking program, which includes local area hikes and evening work-out walks as well as bus hikes, consisting of day and weekend trips to such places as the Bruce Peninsula, Algonquin & Killarney Provincial Park, the Finger Lakes Region in N.Y. State, USA. Most of our hikes are suitable for all ages and offer varying degrees of distances and difficulties. For the more adventurous we introduced "alpine " hiking, which has taken us to the Adirondacks Mountains in New York State and the Green Mountains in Vermont, the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Quebec. Plans are underway for more similar trips, including possibly to the Rocky Mountains and Newfoundland. Hiking has become very popular in the Club. |
